Learning Disabilities Nursing Programme - UCLan - Westlakes Campus, Whitehaven

Opening for applications for September 2022 shortly. We have been asked to run this course by the local CNTW NHS Trust due to a need for specialist learning disabilities nurses in the West Cumbria / Copeland region.

Learning disabilities nurses often enter the profession as mature students who come with experience of learning disabilities and autism either through work or their families. The course may be of interest, therefore, to support staff in the school and parents.

There is a link to the webpage with information about the course here:  https://www.uclan.ac.uk/undergraduate/courses/nursing-with-registered-nurse-learning-disabilities-bsc .

We recognise that not all mature students have the qualifications needed to progress to higher education, and that people lose their certificates over time. For this reason we are running a free ‘Return to Study’ course in January specifically for mature applicants that have relevant experience but not necessarily the qualifications to progress through traditional academic routes. The link to the ‘Return to Study’ course is here: https://www.uclan.ac.uk/undergraduate/courses/return-to-study-entry-programme-health-and-social-care. There will be an online option so that students do not have to be on campus to complete it.
